To describe derealization - it is a kind of mental bluntness when blunt sensations fail to break through the windowpane of the day to the reality beyond. You beat your head against it with the same kind of hopeless useless frustration that you experience when trying to cut through cardboard too thick with scissors too small and you’re stuck in the middle and your fingers are all sliced open by the edges and you cannot get a good grip on nor remove the scissors nor continue the cut which has already been started and cannot be undone and the cardboard is torn and bent in irreparable ways and all of a sudden you feel like crying.
